CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE TODAY
Please join us in Madison Alabama for Historic Downtown Madison's Christmas Open House. The Merchants of Madison are hosting an all day Open House from 10am until 5pm.
Santa is expected, so tell all the boys and girls. We will also get to enjoy carolers several times throughout the day.

Come on out this Friday evening and enjoy the Rwanda Mission Trip Fundraiser with local student and artist Amanda Blanton. Amanda will be talking a little about the Mission Trip and sharing some of her experience. You will also be able to purchase a print of Amanda's painting, "A Rwandan Sun set in Kibuye"

This Saturday, Nov. 13th from 10-12pm, artist Mike Birdsong will be teaching a class in watercolor! Learn the basics of watercolor and go away with your very own landscape painting! This is a great class for beginners and intermediates.

Rwanda FUNDraiser Nov.19 7-9pm
16 Main Gallery will be hosting a FUNDraiser for Amanda Blanton.
She is a local college student and artist. Amanda has created a beautiful painting entitled,
"A Rwandan Sunset in Kibuye" and will be selling prints of the painting.
All proceeds will go to funding Amanda's mission trip to Rwanda in May 2011.
Come and enjoy an evening of fun, food and art while helping one of our own local artists.

A woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every three minutes in the United States and it remains the most commonly diagnosed form of cancer worldwide. You can help us save lives by getting involved. On Oct. 7th, 2010 from 6:30-9pm at 16 Main Gallery, Elite Creations, 16 Main and Artistic Finishes will host "Survivors Palette". This is an opportunity for you to paint a "survivor inspired" painting for yourself or someone you love. The cost is $50.00 and net proceeds from this great event will be donated to the Avon Foundation for Women Breast Cancer Crusade. There will be food and fun to celebrate our survivors.

Raku is a dramatic ceramic firing process involving big flames, glowing pots, and lots of smoke. The results are stunning metallics, brilliant colors, and intricate crackles, making every raku piece unique.
In this workshop with local potter Ned Corron, you will glaze and fire three raku pots that are yours to keep. After applying glazes to three bisque pots, which are provided, you will actively participate in a raku firing process. At the end of the workshop, you will take home your finished raku pottery.

Had a Great Night
16 Main was exploding with talent at the Feed Your Palette Paint night with the Madison Council Wives and instructor, Michele Lee. This group of women did a great job! They raised a total of $285.00 in art scholarship money for some lucky winner. A drawing will be held at the Madison Street festival in October for the winner of the free art classes!!!

White Light Meditation is a form of healing meditation. During this course, students will learn about the healing powers of white light and its effect on the mind, body and soul. The course is geared to helping attain a more peaceful and purposeful life. Students will then be guided through a white light meditation.

Level 1 - Beginners Class (2hr)

Time: 6:30-8:30
(Dress comfortably. Chairs will be provided.
If you have your favorite floor pillow , you may bring it with you)
In this class, Sherry will teach the basic techniques of meditation and explain the benefits of calming your mind and relaxing your body. You will then be guided through a 20 min meditation.
Sherry's belief is that praying is talking to God and meditation is listening to him.

16 Main will be raffling off 1 seat for this special event!
Tickets can be purchased for $5 @ 16 Main, M-Sa 10am-7pm
The drawing will be held on July 6th @5pm
(All proceeds from the raffle will support art lessons for selected Madison children.
The children will be selected through a drawing at the October 2010 Madison Street festival.)
Instructor Michele Lee has created an evening full of fun for this event. Participants will enjoy creating a "surprise" painting to take home, hor d'oeuvres from the Main Street Cafe and lots of fun interacting with the Madison City Council Wives, including Mayor's wife, Julie Finley.
This will be the first in a series of events scheduled by the Madison Council Wives to bring awareness to the Madison Community and it's amazing opportunities!
